Dental Mouth Opener

A dental mouth opener is a device used to keep a patient’s mouth open during a dental procedure. The main types are cheek and lip retractors, which use flexible plastic to provide an unobstructed view, and mouth props, which are bite blocks that keep the mouth open using pressure from the jaw. Surgical mouth gags are also used in more complex procedures, especially on sedated patients.
